PSN President's Letter at Final Meeting

Dear PSN Members,

I gave these remarks at the luncheon and wanted to share them with all of you.

It has been my honor and pleasure getting to know you over these past 5 years.   I’ve had some wonderful conversations and developed friendships with you.  I’ve shared enjoyable luncheons, camaraderie and excellent entertainment.

It has also been my honor and pleasure to serve on the board the last 3 years, first as a Recording Secretary and then as your President.  Being a board member is not always easy and is time consuming but it is also very rewarding.

I would like to thank my fellow board members over the past two years.  I couldn’t have done it without you.   Thank you to fundraising chairs and committee members.  Thank you those who supplied the table decorations and the raffle items.

Today is a sad day and we come with heavy hearts.  We are loosing something special, even historic.  We’ve raised over $100,000.00 over these last 58 years.  We will miss various aspects of this organization.   We will especially miss seeing each other almost every month and the bonds that have been formed.    We will miss working with each other and helping each other with a fundraiser for the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.  We will miss the great venues, food and the excellent entertainment.

The membership however has voted to merge with PSA and we must embrace this and be energetic about this new merger.  We must see it as a new beginning and a way that PSN, as a satellite of PSA, can still do fundraising in the North Hills of Pittsburgh.  WE CAN STILL BE A FORCE IN THE NORTH!!!!

We can support the PSO through various methods.  One is joining PSA and support their fundraising efforts.  Another is to continue to be subscribers to the Grand Classics or Pops Series of the PSO.  A third is to bring fundraising ideas to Marcia Ferrero, our PSA Project Committee member.

The board and I encourage you to join PSA.  Membership forms are available today!!   See Linda Huffman for assistance with joining.

In conclusion I would like to thank all of you for your encouragement, friendship, support.  I would also like to thank you for all the fundraising efforts for our wonderful World Class Symphony Orchestra.

Respectfully,
Tiffany Chrisman
