PSO Visits the Hill District July 31






Sounds of Summer on Centre

We are pleased to announce that Pittsburgh poets Jessica Lanay Moore and Bekezela Mguni will be joining the stage as featured artists on next Tuesday, July 31 concert “Sounds of Summer on Centre.” This community concert celebrates the artistic and cultural vibrancy of Pittsburgh’s Hill District and includes Hill District native and Imani Winds member Monica Ellis in Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto and performances by local soprano Anqwenique. PSO musicians Jennifer Orchard, First Violin, Kelsey Blumenthal, First Violin, Laura Fuller, Viola, and Bronwyn Banerdt, Cello, will open the concert with a performance of the second movement of Florence Price’s String Quartet in G Major. Pre-concert activities begin in the Kaufmann Center courtyard at 6:15 p.m. and all proceeds from the evening benefit youth programs at the Hill House Association.
