Docent Led Tours of Dramatic Edwardian Architecture

Architect W. H. Vantine employed dramatic barrel vaulted ceilings in several areas of Greystone, which will be the site of Pittsburgh Symphony Association’s 2019 Symphony Salon, “The Great Gatsby at Greystone,” on June 2, 2019.

Deadline for ticket purchase is today, May 26. Make sure you are one of the 150 who will attend: https://www.PittsburghSymphonyAssociation.org

Many rooms of the original mansion have been repurposed but the integrity of the architectural details and most of the original hardware have been well preserved.
In the dining room the scenic paintings on animal skins in the arched spaces between the vaults of the curved ceiling and the elaborately carved cornices remain.

In the original master bedroom suite Sarah Benedum's mirrored wall of closets featured paintings of flowers and butterflies on the interiors of the doors.

Docents will lead tours of the mansion during the cocktail hour of Salon.
